  • Sub W. Preout

Alright my AVM unit has a subwoofer pre-out (rca) but just one. How do I hook that up to the L/R rca inputs on the subwoofer amp? Just run 1 rca to it? Or get a splitter or what? Thanks for the help. :x

So it doesn't matter if I plug it into the R or L input? Same amount of bass/sound will happen by just having 1 rca input?

OK, this is a little confusing. Are you saying that your deck will only let you hook EITHER the left or the right RCA into it, but not one? If that's the case, I've never seem anything like it that I can remember. Any deck I've seen has a subwoofer preout with both left and right output jacks.

its rare.. but some decks only have one preout.. and typically its a sorta "blended" form of the L/R channals.. all you need yo do is hook it up to your amp and it will be ok.. jsut pick.. dosent really matter

No No No... I have a pioneer LCD screen in dash, the brain unit is in the back of the car, that's where the RCA outputs and inputs are... It has a Front L/R output, a Back L/R output, a Center channel output and a SubW preout. Since there's only a single RCA preout, when I go to the subwoofer amp that has a L/R input, how do I wire that? Just put 1 rca into the L or R input? - Don't matter which? Or do I get a splitter and put it into both? Or am I wiring it all wrong anyways?

If I'm reading this right, like Bill said, just plug either one of your RCA's into the sub preout, but both of them into the amp. I think that should take care of it

I would get a splitter and run the one RCA into the splitter and plug that into the amp, just so the signal is balanced right.
