I'm really starting to get upset.
After a phone call and a visit to Best Buy last Saturday and picking out my head unit, they checked the car out and they said they could install it Sunday. They gave me prices and everything. I told them Sunday was no good because I was leaving for vacation that day. On my way home I stopped at the Specialists, which is a local place with several locations, and they have a good rep. I talk to a guy there and he gives me their price. Best Buy ended up cheaper because they do free install if you buy the HU from them. So vacation comes and goes, lastnight I call Best Buy up and make an appointment for today at 11:30 and they give me prices again. I show up at 11:30 and the guy looks at my car again and says they can't do it. Why is it that no one caught this until I'm ready to do the install? Now the stereo I was shooting to be installed today so it would be ready to go out to the car club tonight is "impossible" to install without changing out the whole Monsoon system. I ran over to Specialists again on my way home and they said the same thing and that no one makes an adaptor to install an aftermarket HU on a Monsoon system.
This can't be right. Almost all of us have aftermarket head units and everything, right? And I can't be the only one on the board with a Monsoon system. I checked the mods section and it says a simple install. Anyone have a link to someone that makes the wiring harness/adaptor?
EDIT: So I google monsoon and come up with additional info saying all the speakers are 4 ohm. Quoting the Best Buy guy showing me this adaptor: This plugs into all of the bose systems to adjust the aftermarket headunit signal to 1ohm because most factory systems only use 1ohm systems. Aftermarket is all 4ohm.
So this means I don't need any equipment at all other than the wiring harness, antenna adaptor, and the 1din headunit install piece?
