Hey All, First time on the site, This rocks, I've a 97 V6 camaro, everything stock, put a sony MP3 CD unit in for a head and just bought new speakers to replace the stock ones. I put 6X9 in the back which took a little cutting but no problems. 6.5 in the midrange and my front speakers have 4 wires going to them, I beleive these are run in parallel, How do I replace this and what type of speaker should I put in the door.

Welcome to the site.
If your Camaro has 4-speaker wires in each of the doors, it probably has a factory premium sound system known as the Bose or Monsoon sound system. 2-speaker wires power the tweeter and the other 2-speaker wires power the woofer. According to this website's Modification Encyclopedia the tweeters in the doors are 4-OHMS, which are powered from the factory head unit and the oversized 6-1/2" (actually 6-3/4")woofers in the doors are 2-OHMS, which are powered off the Bose/Monsoon amp. If you try to power your new door speakers off the factory amp, you're going to run into an OHMS issue since your new speakers will be 4-OHM while the factory amp is set up for 2-Ohms for that particular location. I would leave the factory wiring alone and run new speaker wire to the doors and power your new speakers off your new CD-Player OR install an aftermarket amp.
