so we've got a few stickies up there -- one on bulb parts, one on subwoofers, one on amps. If steve wanted to do a writeup on enclosures, I think we'd have enough material to make one super-sticky thread that contains all of these good posts.

What do you think Steve? I'm sure no one would mind if your write-up was a little self-serving (e.g. free advertising) ;)

I'll e-mail you some more pics if you want. I'm def. sold on the chrome though. Wouldn't have anything less on my car after seeing these. The old stock tires and rims make me sick to my stomach whenever I glance over in the corner and see them stacked up. I'm still amazed how much it changed the appearance of the car.

I got that set slightly used. The set had about 400 miles (rims and tires)altogether. They were already mounted and balanced and came with all the lugs and center caps and the valve stems and caps are also crome. All for 1,200 delivered. They came from jegs originally and the guy said he paid over 2k for all that after balancing. So I think I got a pretty good deal on them.

Btw, how come you put the old style tail lights on your car?

yeah, if u get a chance send me a couple more pics....keitho311@yahoo.com

as for the taillights, i just love the older style so much more than the new ones. i hated the orange turn signal section. i also love how the older ones follow the lines of the car.

p.s. sorry for going waaaaaaaay off topic

Maybe combine all the stickies and add them to the FAQ thread? Then make a single sticky with a link pointing to the FAQ thread.....since nobody seems to see that link above the topics.... :(

that's an idea. I might suggest breaking it out into a "audio components buying guide" and make it an entirely second document below the FAQ.

I think some kind of write up on building enclosures would be a great idea. Maybe provide pictures or diagrams of some sort to go along with the write up.

Since we're on the topic of stickies, I've been thinking about writing up a tutorial on the various ways one could "properly" connect/splice wires. What I had in mind were pictures and a brief write-up on: soldering, using shrink wrap, using butt connectors and other splicing techniques. I figure it would be helpful to people just getting started in car-audio.

that sounds awsome please do it. i need to build a box for my hx2 its going to fit into the area where my factory sub was but its gonna take up the whole area. i want to build it out of fiberglass but i know its expensive and difficult to do properly. Is there a better way? what type of matting would i want to use(where can i buy this stuff cheapest), i want it to be thick so im gonna build it up a few layers. what do you think about laying it against the inside of the fender so i can optimise the shape and space( i would put something between first, like bubble wrap so it doesnt rattle). then i was gonna put the amp over with the spare tire im not sure how just yet. my intention is that when its done you can hardly see that its not stock (theft deturant) and i can still put the t tops back there.
