    How to tell what system you have?

    Out of interest... I just wanted to know what sound system my car came with... it is an RS and was ordered as a company car... They splurged and got the leather steering wheel, shift knob, and I think a LSD, but is there any way to tell whether I got a "premium" system or not? Considering the other options they got, I wouldn't be surprised if they got a nice sound system too. It sounds dang good btw... woo! Blows my old car's only-left-speakers-basically-no-bass system out of the water.

    It has a Bose 10 CD-changer in the back that I thought was aftermarket but I saw someone posting about the Bose/Monsoon premium system so maybe that is an indicator?

    You probably have the Bose system. Look on the inside of your driver's door or inside the glove box for a sticker that contains a bunch of 3-digit codes. Use this LINK to look up each code to see what options were factory installed.

    Besides having speakers in the doors and speakers on the sides where the rear passengers sit, Firebirds/Camaros that are equipped with the factory Bose or Monsoon sound system will also have speakers wayyyyy in the back hatch.

      yep! I do have those! WOO! I was thinking "Man, this sounds great... what are some of these guys doing calling their systems crappy?" but I guess I got the premium system with the car! (or is this not a premium one... is there a site where it lists all of the factory possibilities sound-system-wise?... I think I've seen one in the past) What a steal WOO!

          The word "premium" is just a fancy name car manufactures use to describe their 'best of the best' factory stereo system. In the case of Firebirds/Camaros, their factory "premium" sound systems are referred to as Bose or Monsoon.

              Nope lol... found it on autotrader after 2 months of looking.

              Yet another reason I'm psyched about finding this car:

              It's first owner was a company... almost all miles are highway miles driven by this company. We all know how companies like to be fancy [img]tongue.gif[/img] ... It came with leather steering wheel and shift knob, keyless entry, a very nice Bose sound system, and a 10-CD changer.

              The second owner was the dealer I bought it from. A real steal eh? :D The dealer was a used volvo place and didn't seem to acknowledge a lot of these add-ons when we were talking about prices.
