i just got a 98 camaro 2 weeks ago and it has 6 speakers but the 2 in the middle of the car don't work. It has a pioneer head unit in it and i took off the dash and pulled the HU out and the stock wire harnes has 3 plugs but one is not plug in to the HU because there is no place to put it, it only has two plugs.

The other wiring harness is for a factory cd-changer, don't worry about it.
The speakers where the rear passesngers sit blow very easy. You can't just throw in any old speaker in that location because the factory amp only sends lower frequencies to them, plus they are wired for dual 4-ohm voice coils. Whatever you do, take your time and do things right.2006 Tiburon

If your looking for the best sound try putting a component mini subwoofer or component speaker in that spot. As nda0602v6 said the amp in the car will only send low frequencies to those speakers and thay is why a component speaker would do better than a regular one. The tweeter on most component systems is separate so the main speaker makes the lows-mids and the tweeter makes the highs. I have kaption6.5" 3ways in the front. Infinity 6.5" compnoents with no tweeter in the rear.(they act as very clean little mini woofers.) then infinity 10" subs(2) in the trunk.
Goodluck. And as for your problem with the sound dieing down when you brake the only thing I can think of is that your alternator might be shot. Perhapps when you brake it uses some power and the alternator struggles to keep up...
