Freaky deal with my Bose system

Here are the symptoms... I'm hoping someone can maybe figure it out from this...

The right side speakers occaisionally go out with my CD player... It's ONLY with the CD player... they're great with the radio and always work with that (In other words... they aren't broken)

-They don't totally die, but play super-quiet, and with tons of noise and crud in the music.
-Unplugging the multiple-pin connector that connects to my CD-changer in the trunk will fix it totally for a day or two. I even cleaned the connection with alcohol 1 or 2 days ago, but today it pooted out again...
-It seems to sometimes die inbetween stopping and starting the engine. For example.... the speakers were fine, then when I came back down to move my car later... and started it... they were messed up again.
-I found a wire connection down inbetween my female seatbelt connector and the center console.... I messed with it and it would make the right speakers kind of get worse then better (but never perfect... just different levels of "bad")... Upon further inspection I found that the wires don't seem to have ANYTHING to do with the sound system!!! It just goes up into the seat belt!

What in the WORLD is going on here? I know basically nothign about wiring so I was hoping someone on here might know something

That wire you were messing with next to the seat belt was probably the wire that activates the "seat belt light" on the dash.

Do you have an indash cd-player AND the cd-changer way in the back? Or is the 'cd-changer' your only source of playing cd's? It's possible that the problem may be inside the cd-player itself since you mentioned the speakers act up only when you play cd's. For the heck of it, try cleaning the cd-changer plug that plugs into the back of the headunit in the dash. If your headunit has 'theft-lock,' make sure you know the code or know if it's disabled before you disconnect the main wiring harness behind it.

What I don't understand is why that wire.... which has nothing to do with the audio.... is affecting the audio...

There is no in-dash CD-player. There's just an AM/FM radio with a tape player and the CD-player is in the back. It does have theft lock so I can probably figure it out... I'm going to look at it later and I hope it's pretty obvious how to get it off... I've never done something like this before.

So I cleaned everything..... Here's what I did...

-Activated then Deactivated Theftlock (Just to make sure... I didn't want a dead radio because I was careless and it was activated)
-Took everything out.
-Found the CD connection in the back of the Console/Radio/Whatever it is.
-Took it off... it also was connected to a connector after a short distance of wire, so I took that off too.
-I cleaned all connections. Nothing visible came off of the first one. Barely anything came off of the second one.
-Cleaned my air ducts while I was in there (WOW... you'd be surprised how much black crud came out of there after I wiped it)
-Put Everything back like it was

I set the balance to all the way right... still out.... I went back to the back unplugged and replugged in the connection to the CD-changer.... IT WORKED!... Whyyyyyyyy? It doesn't seem to make any sense because that connector was the first thing I cleaned!

After it started working again I faded and balanced and checked everything and every speaker worked great and was the same intensity on left and right.

I stopped and restarted my car just to see if that would have any effect.... they still work.

Hopefully they'll just keep working.. but if it's anything like last time they'll poot out in a few days.

I just want to know what in the world could be causing the problem and why the solution is so simple as just unplugging the connector and plugging it back (it's in a hard-to-reach place... so it's not "super-conveinient")

I had those symptoms on my car before. The cd player is bad. I had a warranty from best buy and they replaced it and my sound is cool now.
P.S. i have an amp for my speakers too, just an fyi

Thanks... I think it is the CD-Player too... the unplugging and replugging pretty much makes it a sure thing for me.

Unfortunaly >_<.... I think the CD player came with the car...

I think it's warranty ran out like 7 years ago haha.
