I had to change my left side door.after I hooked up all the wires inside the door.the radio will power on but no sound at all.not from the radio or the cd player.I already tried 3 other radios but its the same.anyone knows whats wrong before I take it to the dealer

Double check all your fuses on the side of the dash. On the door you replaced, I would also check to see if the speaker wires got pinched somehow causing a short.

Only other thing I could suggest is to take the door panel off and check the speaker wires. If two speaker wires are touching each other, the headunit may have a protection feature built in which would cut the output power to everything. Do you have the Bose or Monsoon system? Also, what kind of car, Camaro or Firebird? Year?

I wouldn't take it to a dealer because from what I've personally experienced, (not all) but a majority of them are hacks. If everything was working good till you messed with the door then that's more than likely where the problem is. Even before removing the door panel, remove the lower kick panel to access the wires that lead to the door. There should be plugs in that area, unplug the 'speaker' wires and see if you get sound from your other speakers. If it works then the problem is between the kick panel area and the door.

yea, thats what i was thinkin. if you have the wires touching on the speaker, a lot of head units have a "PROTECT" feature, so it doesnt f up the electronics. make sure the wires arent touching.

I had this happen to me a few weeks ago. If your fuses are fine, then it's almost definitely a short. Disassemble the doors, check out your wires and secure them so that they're not shorting out at any of the exposed connections.

As you reassemble, keep testing the radio after each step to make sure it's still working.

It sucks, but it's a cheap fix.

Does your 94 Camaro have the bose system? (do you have speakers way back in the hatch area?)

If your Camaro has the Bose/Monsoon system, check the 'factory amp' to see if it's getting power. (remove the spare tire to access the amp) On the plug that plugs into the amp, use a test light or volt meter to see if the 2 Orange wires have power. Both of them should be hot. Here's a description of what wire does what coming out of the amp.

If it has the factory Bose or Monsoon sound system the amp will be there. Have to remove the spare tire to access it.
