  • New Set Up Coming Soon....

At the moment i have (2) 10'' Fosgate HX2's being pushed off a Viper 1200 amp. The set up sounds damn good, good enough that people dont belive me their 10's untill i show them.

I want to rip out those 10's and drop in (2) 12'' XXX subs, the RMS on them is 1600 a peice so ill be pushing about 3,200 watts of power. I will get another Viper 1200 for a total of 2 Viper amps one per sub.

    Now the questions...

    1) Any one in here run 2 batteries? If so where is the second one? But if i were to run 2 batteries i would need to run 0 awg to the second battery correct?

    2) If i were to run another battery would i need a battery isolator? Ive had mixed opinions on this.

    3) Any one ever ran a 2nd alt on their camaro?

    4) Would a single 0 gauge wire be enough to power (2) of these viper amps? The current draw on them is about 120 amps a peice.

    5) I want to run a cap(s) just for the wow factor and for the voltage read out :D . I was thinking of running 2 seperate caps one for each. Or would one bigger one be better for both amps?

    Thanks

To be blunt, you're getting out of our leagues here. It's probably time to move over to F-body Audio and EliteCarAudio.

instead of caps i would use banks. they are costly but worth it. i also would have a custom alternator made. i run a 180 amp.

my buddy has a second battery in the spare tire well of his T/A. i will ask him about that set up.

what db are u trying to reach? sealed or ported?

I already run a 180 amp version backing that up is a 800 CCA battery.

I dont have a certain DB goal that i want to reach but i did hit a 138 at the dash with all the doors/windows rolled up with my current set up.
