  • questions regarding a stealthbox:

Ok, just bought it. It's a 10", but empty.
I want to amp it, but don't want anything that'll make people notice what song I'm playing from across town. Can a 100w amp fit the task?
Also,is it possible to find an amp that is small in size, enough to fit under the rear interior panels?
I have posted a Wanted Ad in here for an amp with these same requirements.

Thank you in advanced for any help rendered.

100WRMS should do the job. Make sure it's RMS though.... some companies rate their amps in peak, which is double the RMS value. Some companies just flat out lie about their output. Makes their amps look bigger to the untrained eye. You have a 10" sub in mind yet? How much you looking to spend? Yes, some smaller amps can fit right up against the spare tire. Totally stealth.

I did a really quick search on Ebay and came up with this little 2-channel MTX Amp for $57.50. When bridged, the specs state it puts out 150watts "RMS" @ 4-Ohms. Something like this would probably fit in the location where 96firebird311 was talking about, that or even where the factory Monsoon amp goes. Just an idea.

If you're going to get a 2-channel amp and bridge it, nearly all of them will only be able to run safely at 4-Ohms. (with the exception of some amps like "mono" amps which can go lower than 4-ohms). If going with a 2-channel amp and bridging, look for either a 'single 4-ohm voice coil subwoofer' OR a 'dual 2-ohm voice coil subwoofer'. (Series the dual 2-ohm to prestent a safe 4-ohm load for the amp)

That's definaltely me! I don't know the first thing about amps, bridges, mono, etc. I have seen the other sites here in the stereo section that break everything down, but I still don't get it. It's like by brain isn't allowing me to understand it
I'll look in ebay first where nda0602v6 posted the link, and go from there. I'll just remember the 100RMS part (I can do that).
I don't have any particular sub in mind, just something with a little more kick than the bose-box back there now.

        !```!Thanks guys!~~~!

How much are you looking on spending. For about $250 you can have a REALLY nice sounding setup. Check out these two links:

They would compliment each other wonderfully.
Or you could get this amp, and will still sound good and only cost you $200.

Just a few ideas. I do happen to think that sub is one of the best low budget subs out there for SQ. I have 300 watts going to mine and you can BARELY notice it from outside the car. Sounds great.

Here are a couple 10" subs for under $100.00 to check out. These will all work good in small sealed enclosures.

            Dayton Quatro 10" (4-OHM) $64.59

            MTX (4-OHM) $47.95

            Rockford Fosgate -Punch Stage 2 (4-OHM) $65.00

Something like that little Clarion amp Larryfirebird33 suggested would do the trick for what you're looking for.

                Dayton huh?
Ok, I'm ordering it after I get done writing this, along with the clarion amp.

Hey 96firebird311-nda0602v6-larryfirebird33, thanks for all the help, and I'll let y'all know how it sounds when it's installed.
