Ok, it sucks enough my car is down right now with a blown head gasket, but someone, I dont know who, decided to try to steal my pioneer CD player. Except they were jackasses, and they didnt know that there are two tabs on each side and it slides out perfectly. My CD does not have detachable face, but it is basically a brand new CD player, pretty high quality one also. So they ripped the face off, so it wont work even if I found it and then destroyed the CD player, by tring to pry it out with a screwdriver. Not only that but my dash is messed up. And somehow, I dont know how, but they had my trunk popped when I woke up this morning. And I have my negative battery disconnected so they couldnt use the popper in the glove box, and I have the keys. This is messed up. I hate people like this. I just wish I knew who it was. And they will wish I didnt know. :( [img]graemlins/rant.gif[/img]

My wife had the same thing happen with her car. People broke into the car to steal cd player/speakers. They couldn't get the radio out so they drove a screwdriver into the radio (which they left there) and also couldn't get at the rear speakers because you need a small screwdriver to get at the back screws so they punched holes in those too...

Sorry to hear that man but if the radio is high end then it should have a detachable face.

Having a radio with a non-detach face is just like leaving money on the seat. How did they break in? Its pretty much time to invest in an alarm because who ever got into your car knows how to get in there and in due time they know your going to replace the radio so they might go back.

Tint your windows and get at least a little pos $100 prestige alarm.

Well ok, my car came with a peice of crap prestige alarm. And the only thing it did was sound the alarm when the door was opened. How it knew was it probably looked for voltage drop, for example when the door was opened, the interior light came on, and that would sound the alarm, and so basically, it was useless cause all someone would have to do is break my window, and they would be in. This prestige alarm, had no vibration sensor on the car. So all it did was piss me off, and never help. So I disinstalled it. I am sure my Cd player had no detachtable face, it was fold down face, but not detachable. I even read in the manual of pioneer, and they said no detachable face. They got in my car cause the door was unlocked, not because they knew how to break in, these kids were like idiots, I had a couple semi-valuable things in there, and they didnt even realize them. I really do need to get tint. Like I said, my car is in the driveway on jackstands. In fact they broke into every car in our driveway that had the doors unlocked. So that would mean my brothers, my freinds car I am borrowing, my car, and then went next door to check out both of my neighbors cars. It doesnt look like they came out with anything but the face of a pioneer CD player. Pretty gay. Anyways, I wish I could find the stupid kids, I would let them understand the full meaning of ownage. I wouldnt even stop, I would like steal there rims and tires on every vehicle in their family for like 5 years straight. I mean I would do it EVRY god damn weekend. **** them. :(

Sorry to hear about the bad news. Out of curiosity, was the alarm you removed one of those cheap alarms where the brain is built into the siren? Those "two wire hook-up" alarms are pure scrap. Prestige really isn't all that bad though. At least get one that uses a separate brain that mounts inside the car.
