  • Hmm...question about running 2 amps.

Ok, so I just bid on a stealth enclosure with a jl 10" on ebay. I already have 2 12's but just 1 amp. Obviously i'm gonna need another amp. I know how to hook everything up but I just have a question or two. Is it safe to splice into the existing wires? Running that power wire is a real pita. How about the remote wire? Surely I can splice into that...right? Thanks!

yes you can split the remote wire, but you need to run another power wire. i know its a pain to wire, but you need to do it. if you dont, you wont be putting enough power to the amps. but the remote wire is fine to splice! hope this helps.

what size wire do you already have ran? If its a 4 gauge you might be ok.

no, it's 0. I thought I could use 4 and the salesman told me i could, but the installer said to use 0.

if you have 0 gauge then that will be enough to run a few amps.

Just get a distro block such as this one:

              http://cgi.ebay.com/0-4-8-Gauge-Supe...QQcmdZViewItem

And you can just splice into your remote line, and then ground each amp individually.

he is right. i thought you were trying to run like 2 amps on 8 gauge wire.. but if you have a big enough wire, youll be fine. i actually suggest doing that instead of running two wires!

Cool...so if the input is 0 guage, do I have to use 4 on the output?

uses 0ga input and 2x 4ga output. They all vary. FOr your setup, I would sugest the same.

you can get a ground distribution block also but you can easily run two grounds

you can get RCA splitters as well..
