• So I think my system is planned out...

See anything I should change? Here is what I have planned... all the money is in my bank account, I'm just waiting for spring to get it all since my car is in my barn for winter.

(2) 12" Kicker S12L5 Solo-baric subs (600W RMS) (4 ohm)
Viper Audio D1200.1 amp (will buy new) - CAMAROWIDBASS, I may take you up on your deal, stand by...
Subthump.com's T-top box for 2 12" square subs

I've read that square subs rip on the corners easily, is this true? I will probably have this system for a while during my first few years of college, so I want it to last. Also, how hard is wiring? I've never installed speakers (had free installation on my Infinities up front), so I'm kinda scared on wiring something wrong. I'll probably be here for lots of help .

how much are you paying for the L5's... I can sell you two brand new in box never opened 10" L7's for $300..
The 10's Hit hard as hell and will probably sound better , being as they need less air space and the subthump t top box probably wouldnt be adequete for 2 12's... (spelling?..)

wiring can be complicated if you have never done it before but theres lots of people here to walk you thru it when the time comes

Well I can get the subs for about $200 shipped from hifisoundconnection.com, will a factory renewed sub be good enough to thump?

Wiring isnt too difficult, but you need to have an idea of what goes where. If you know where it goes its just a matter of hooking it up.

factory renewed will probably be ok but i dont
trust that...
its basically a used sub that they made look new or a damaged sub that was fixed

but yeah just about any L5's will thump..
i have one 10" L5 here thats in a box for my girlfriends car.. it sounds great in a trunk of a cobalt with only 400 watts.

I plan on ordering them tonight, so any other inputs would be great. Here is where I plan on ordering them. Can't beat the price - $139.99 (4-day special) and free shipping. So any other opinions?

Check out knukonceptz.com for your wiring. Still using the stock headunit? And I'm sure there's something in our FAQ thread that you can use.

Thanks for the link 96firebird311, and I have a Pioneer DEH-P6600. I'll take a look at the FAQ tomorrow, I'm just worried about hiding the wiring and messing up the carpet or panels or something :D .
