• Make me a stereo system...

Well, if you are feeling bored, I have a little thing you can do. Make me a stereo system for my '96 Firebird. The parts can be from anywhere, but you only have $250 to spend :D . So the rules are...

-$250 (or around there) total
-MP3 compatable HU
-All new speakers
-Decent sound (nothing record breaking or earth shaking)
-Find a head unit, speakers, amp, and sub if you'd like
-Have fun finding stuff, if you get frustrated don't bother

Now go find me my system!

And if $250 is too little, give me a price and I'll see what I can do.

HU....Pioneer DEH-P560MP
Speakers...Infinity Reference 6002i's all around

Price~$250

To tell you the truth your not gonna get any top of the line setup for $250 but this would be a nice setup for pretty good overall sound.

you can get a lot of equipment cheap (and new) on ebay. don't ever order it from somewhere like crutchfield though, their prices are insane

How about the JVC KD-SC500? Seems cheap enough for me, and it plays MP3 discs. It also has a flip-down face, which I'll probably need at school. Has anyone dealt with HiFi Sound Connection before? They have a LOT of stuff on e-bay for cheap.

I have never had a JVC head unit so I dont know. If I were you I would go with a lower line pioneer or Alpine HU.

I wouldn't waste your money on JVC.

I have to disagree with Bat on this one. I have had 3 different JVC's and loved every one. Only reason I had 3 was because I got rid of the old one with the car that it was in. Both my parents, brother, and 2 ex's have all had JVC and loved it.
Alpine and Pioneer are both good just depends on how much you want to spend and the look you are going for.

Unless you get everything hot or used its going be hard to have a system for $250.
