Been searching around for a head unit that will fit in my 02 firebird. I looked on best buy's site and circuitcity's site, I can't find anything that will fit. Does anyone know what will fit and what will not???? Or do I have to get a mounting kit or what?
You will probably have to end up getting an install kit. I do believe some companies make head units that fit the stock GM size (Pioneer for example), but they aren't really worth it when you can buy a better head unit and install kit for cheaper.
So don't search for one that "fits", since they all will fit with an install kit.

With an install kit, there are at least 50 of them that will fit in our cars. go to www.crutchfield.com and put in the information about your car, and it will return a list of many of the things that will fit in there.
Although they're not the cheapest out there, it's a nice one-stop source for everything you need, good customer support, and legitimate warranty protection.
DIY install of the headunit on our cars is one of the easiest ones out there.

one more quick question, Does anyone know if the stock monsoon system has rca jacks in the back? I want to run a sub. If it does I'll keep the stock system in.
Silver, I THINK they're like 40 bucks. Been awhile since I've visited the site. Please see the topic on this floating around the stereo section. Maybe we can get a group buy together to save some $$$.
Also, the Camaro/Firebird's have a 1.5din opening. Meaning all headunits 1.5 din and smaller will fit fine with an install kit. 1 din is BY FAR the most common size. Head into BB or CC and that's probably all you'll see. Also, follow the walkthrough we have in our FAQ section and you should be able to install it yourself in no time flat. Despite what MrCoffee has said.... I can't think of too many other cars that have an easier headunit install??....

Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
