  • help installing capacitor!!

ok so i went to charge my capacitor...i made sure it had a good ground and connected the ground to the negative terminal of the capacitor. i then attached the resistor to the end of the power wire and slid the resistor down inside of the posotive terminal to charge it...but, when i touched it it just kinda threw out some sparks and nothing happend? i tryed hooking it up and the digital display wasnt lighting up so obviously it didnt charge. Can anyone tell me what happend and what i need to do?

when i had a cap, it had some entire circuit board that you put on the terminals and charged it with.

you may or may not have fried your cap, im not sure.

read the directions carefully, maybe get someone to help you, and try it again.

Mine had a light, not a resistor but you shouldn't have fried it cause the resistor will breakdown before it transfers enough voltage.

yea the resistor kind of blew up, the actual resistor was still there but the wire snapped, there was still some wire left tho so i tried again but had prety much the same results, nothing happend.

i think i may have figured out part of my problem, my cap requires a remote wire to be connected which i did not know, that would be why its not turning on.
