• OK I finally got leather seats, but...

My car doesn't have the same plugs and connections as a trans-am does under the seat for the air and power. Is there some way I can get the dealership to wire them up? Whoever owned the car before happened to have the seats just right, so I can drive comfortably. It would be nice to have some power in them sometime in the future though. Has anyone with leather seats from a T/A had this problem?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the controls for the seats ON the seat? It should just be a matter of wiring up power to the seat then. That should be a job you can do on your own...

Yeah, the controls are on the seat. My car has 1 plug coming out of the floorboard on the driver's side with an orange and a black wire on it. That plug won't directly connect with the plug on the leather seats. The seat has 2 plugs. One for air I believe and a plug with 6 wires. That plug has the black and orange wires on it, but I'm afraid to go hooking them up because I'm not exactly sure what that plug is for. Would the orange be the power and the black be the ground? On top of that, the passenger side doesnt have any kind of plug coming out of the floorboard...I'm afraid that I'll short something out if I try it myself since I'm not sure about the wires.

I may just leave them alone since they are set fine the way they are. It would be nice to be able to move them around if I had to though.

I bought sport leather seats from a T/A a while back and had similar problems. If you are comfortable with them just having full movement(no adjustable lumbar), then just splice the orange and black wires together. It will work just fine.

Go here and talk to a guy named Kevin. He's a mod on the performance section of that board. If he does'nt know what to do I don't know who will. Dude knows EVERYTHING about these cars.

When i bought my leather seats i bought them from a 99 Firebird. The connections were all the same. none on the passenger side and one on the drivers side. I love em so much more than my cloth seats

firebird seats will be plug and play.

the TA (AQ9 (i think thats the rpo code) articulating seats) are not.

Ok, so with some research, you can splice the wires togather for power, but what do I hook up the air cable/hose to? Lumbar is getting wasted, lol
