I want to replace my AC Delco headunit with something nicer,but I'm not sure if it's got any external amps on it????
If it has how would that effect replacing the HU??
My car is a '98 Camaro,and any help would be very useful!!
IT IS POSSIBLE YOU HAVE A MONSOON SYSTEM EVEN IF YOUR HEAD UNIT DOES NOT SAY "MONSOON"
'97 and early '98 model Camaro's Monsoon head units simply said "Delco Electronics" just like the non-Monsoon systems. Check your door codes to find out if you have the Monsoon system:
ULO = Monsoon Cassette HU
UNO = Monsoon CD HU
U1S = 12 disc changer
But regardless, you can replace the head unit if you have the monsoon system or not. Just as you would with any other car. If your aftermarket head unit is single din, then you'll need a dash kit, wiring harness and antenna adapter. If it's din 1/2 omit the dash kit.
