ok guyz i finally got my amp wiring kit i went with the one from knukonceptz.com so im gonna need elp installing th ***** i also got a stinger sloc line level. i need pics on how to hook the power cable up to the battery and im gonna custom mount the amp somewhere i have a whole fuukin sheet of 5/8 mdf cause i was gonna build a box...
You are talking about a line level adapter correct? Or line output converter. Same thing. It should has came with instructions. Usually just a single page or picture. It's just splicing your speaker outputs from the head unit onto the LOC. As far as connecting the power wire to the battery.... do you have side mounts on your battery? Or top mount posts? Either way your gonna need a battery terminal of some kind. If you have side mounts then you'll need the GM screw type at the bottom of the page. If you have top, any of the others will work.

ya it came with instructions and i ordered the side battery terminal... what can i tap into for the remote turn on cause the rcas i got have the remote cable connected to them so i was thinking about hookin it to the power antenna cable out of the radio harness.

You can tap an iginition wire somewhere or off of the power antenna. Firebirds are easy enough because the radios already have a remote turn on. Just tap into the pink wire. Camaro radios also have a remote turn on but there is not a wire coming out of the radio for it. Get a connector to fit the radio harness (available from most auto parts stores) and plug your wire into pin #8. This is your remote turn on.
Oh geez. Here we go again. DO NOT do it the way CAMAROWITHBASS has done. Lemme ask you this, what's protecting that strand of 8g going from the battery to that + terminal? Allow me to answer, NOTHING! Every single ampere your car is drawing, including the stereo, is traveling through that wire. And I don't wanna hear "I've been running it like that for XXX years...". You can't argue with the facts.
CAMARORULZ, run a single power wire DIRECTLY FROM THE BATTERY to your amp (or d-block). Make sure the wire is large enough for your amp(s) and make sure it's properly fused. Do it right. Don't cut a TINY corner like that and think it's OK.....

Hmm what if run a 4 gauge wire from my alt to where all my stuff is connected? HMMMMM???
I did try to run it straight from the battery when i only has one amp, that skrew thing that bolt into the terminal on the batt wasnt long enough. I said oh well this is easier.

NO! Think man! Think! How is your battery going to charge? From that positive terminal to the positive battery post. AGAIN, through the 8g wire!! You would be making it worse! Why would you do that? The part you need is in the link I gave earlier. The GM screw type adapter. I have used them before and they are THE S#IT!!!! Run both your stereo power wires from the adapter....
blah,,why buy a 15 bux adapter. I went to Auto Zone and i purchased a top post terminal($1.50) and i got cable from there. I also ran (2) 8 gauge wired from the alt to the battery to help it out.

Now if you could get rid of all that damn 8g wire and use a single run of 4!!! :D

Thats exactly what i was going to do is run 4 gauge, i didnt have any laying around though. but i have a LOT of 8 gauge so heck i figure (2) 8 gauge are just as good as (1) 4 gauge.
