you pay for what you get. better amps don't come cheap and are often dishing out much more power than they say. most nicer amps also give much more clean power. so to answer your question, yes.
i agree. good amps cost more $, for obvious reasons. Don't think that the good amps are dishing out that much more power than they are rated for, but rather cheap amps numbers are often greatly exagerated and the power isn't nearly as clean (doesn't sound as good)-- IMO [img]smile.gif[/img]

i haven't ever really understood the cleanest attribute. is that saying that there's going to be some distortion to it? or possibly buzzing? or that it won't be able to push it to hit more notes?
if he's going to have 4 subs pounding, i don't think he needs the cleanest power going to it.
i'm probably wrong on something here. but i'd like to know.

That's just the crossover, any sub can amplify any signal, the crossover will determine how low they will hit. I think the lowest a human ear can hear is 20 or 30 hz.
