  • phase control?

    what is this? i've seen it on many amps and never really known what it does... its on mine and is 0-180? i turned it both ways and nothing seemed to change?

    Phase changes the direction of the subwoofer.

          Basically, it just swaps which terminal the speaker leads are tied to. If a speaker is hooked up out of phase (aka backwards), it'll sound weird since it's sound waves are cancelling out the sound from a different speaker.

            Phase relates to all speakers should be pushing air in the same direction at the same time.
            when they are out of phase then bass output is reduced.
            to check phase. change the wire connection pos. and neg.
            and see if the bass changes or not.

              some amplifiers though.. Like his
              come with a phase control.
              you can swap it on the amp instead of changing the leads on the sub.

                Yep. Pretty much everyone hit it on the head. [img]smile.gif[/img] Also useful when mounting subs inverted.
