there is 2 other ways.
you can buy the Soundgate adapter for more $$
or reverse engineer a 1 wire, to IR transmitter, and solder it to your stock remote.
personally, the $60 i spend 4 years ago on the PAC piece, is the best $60 i have ever spent.
