Are you talking about going with everything Pioneer?

I had a Pioneer head. Gave $135 for it. Decent features and never skipped. I now have a Sony (different car) head which I gave $200 for. I know people say stay away from sony, but for the features I couldnt pass it up. It skips on brand new Cd's.

I have a Pioneer 800w mono amp powering 2 kicker 12's. It puts out plently of power for my little kickers. Nice features, no heating problems.

I also had some Pioneer 6 1/2 on my other Camaro. They were pretty good speakers. Nothing special but an improvement over stock nontheless.

I dont know if I would buy one of their subs. They look pretty cheap.

Yes you can mix brands. But don't get the 8 ohm sub. Kicker makes a 4 ohm version for the same price which is more suited for your application.

As for the box, subthump.com has exactly what you are looking for.

            Pioneer headunit - Awesome.
            Pioneer Amplifier - Decent.
            Pioneer Subwoofer- Not so great.
Pioneer Speakers - Awesome- Depending on the model. Lower end not so good, Top end Really good.
Yes you can mix and match stuff though.

It doesn't mastter about the Resistance "ohms" rated to the sub. It all Boils down to how you are going to be wiring and what the amp is rated to handling. depending on # of subs, resistance to subs, # of voice coils & How you wire the subs to the amp will tell you what "Ohm Stable" amp you want to buy. Q-Logic makes Great enclousers for 3rd and 4th gen camaros.
