Hi a friend of mine has 2 15 inch kicker subs im thinking of buying off him. . and he said id need a 1000 watt amp to power them. would an 8 gauge power wire be safe to use? because thats what i have now. It said on the package when i bought it that it was good up to 1000 watts but im not sure. and what other size amps would i be able to use?
any help would be great thanks!

no you will need at least a 4 gauge power cable if you are pulling 1000 watts
the package may say it but ive seen amp wires completley melt down.. and its not worth it.
4g is a must. And give us the model number of the subs before you buy an amp. You may buy something that's gonna be "incompatible" with your subs. For Kicker, the model number is probably something like S15L7D2 or similar....

Not much going on, replaced my Kenwood double din stereo with a Pioneer double din, the Kenwood had problems. Then replaced my power inverter for my reverse...
