I recently hooked up my amp (sony-(ya i know ****ty brand but it was cheap for 800 watts)) to my rear component speakers (infinity)-it is also hooked up to my subs (infinity)-anyways when the amp turns on all the speakers "pop" at first and this sounds ****ty and possibly like it may blow a speaker or tweeter-any chance this may happen or is this typical? also im getting interference or some type of static in the background on the tweeters along with a ringing hat fluctuates with my rpm's-is this possibly because my power cord is run too close to the speaker wires or could it be something else?

Also i now have extra wire ends all hooked up with no speakers to go to as i originally had the rear speakers run through the head unit--should i buy some speakers to hook up there? possibly 6x9's in enclosures or tweeters or would that just be overkill now that i have 6.5 coaxials in the front, components in the rear, and 2 10" subs? All advice and opinions are appreciated, thanks in advance

We need more info. The exact model number of the amp would be nice. Also, exact how you have these speakers wired to the amp. Some cheap amps are known to have an audible turn on/off thump.

ok the amp is this one http://www.zalmar.com/detail-Audio-Sony-XM_475GSX.htm

and all the speakers are infinity reference series-the box is divided (two separate sides with a piece of wood between) and nothing is bridged--i think that is all the info u will need-so what do u think? any ideas on the thought of getting 6x9's?
