  • monsoon to alpine....

Is it possible to change my monsoon headunit and replace it with my alpine cda-9813? It seems kinda impossible cuz the alpine has output for 4 speakers while monsoon is 8 speakers.i also know that monsoon headunit powers front tweeters while other speakers are powered by amp. it's just all confusing. is it possible? if yes, what do i need to buy?thnaks.

yes it is possible, just buy the standard harness, antena adapter, and mounting plate and you should be good to go. Dont expect a real change in sq or power output or anything though, you still have the same crappy amp and speakers so it will sound pretty much the same.

T-Punk is correct. Hooking up the Alpine will be a snap...just buy what he mentioned. In terms of sound quality, the Monsoon Amp is doomed right from the start since it receives its inputs from a headunit's hi-level/speaker level outputs. Not to mention the "quality" of the Monsoon Amp itself is far from great, it distorts very easily. Replacing the stock headunit though is still a great starting point. Enjoy
