I just bought the HU and four main speakers of a Monsoon system. The guys keeping the back 2 sail panel speakers but wants to get rid of the amp for the speakers. We both can't figure out where the Monsoon amp is? Any1 know where it is, and maybe even have a pic. Thanks

It's attached to a black cover by the wheel well on the passenger side. Their are two screws holding it in.
It's not on top of the spare tire, it's in front of it (in relation to the car), it's actually on the inside there. It's up towards the wheel well. Where the seam is for the wheel well, there is a bolt that holds a piece of plastic to the seam. Take out the bolt (there might be two) then you can take off the plastic piece. The plastic has the amp attached to it.

YES IT IS BETTER TO GO WITH A SEPPERATE AMP. DEPENDING ON WHAT HU YOU HAVE DEPENDS ON WETHER OF NOT IS HAS AN INTERNAL AMP. IF ITS THE MONSOON HU I DONT THINK IT HAS AN AMP BECAUSE GM PUT IN AN EXTERNAL AMP. NOW IVE ANSWERED YOU QUESTIONS SO STOP COMPLAINING. YOU KNOW YOU CAN SEARCH AROUND OTHER SITES TO FIND INFO ABOUT WEATHER OR NOT THE STOCK HU HAS AN AMP BUILT IN INSTEAD OF MAKING A BIG DEAL ABOUT HAVING TO WAIT TO GET A REPLY... RIGHT?
