  • Amp Blown?

I got this problem with my amp, its a MTX Blue Thunder 75x2.

Currently, when hooked up to my subs, it makes a strange hi-pitch sound, no matter what the volume is set too. So I unhooked the speakers and just ran it to one sub, still the same thing, I tried both channels and still the same.
Also it is getting very hot, a lot hotter than normal. Anyone know what is going on?

    Any help would be great!

could be a blown amp. you sure it's wired up correctly? if so, I'd say it's time to buy a new amp.

If you have been into car stereo for a while you should be able to smell a burnt amp or not. Take a wiff and if it smells like something may have burnt with an electronics/metal type smell, kiss that amp goodbye. Goodluck.
