I got a brand new Earthquake phd2 amp... 3000 watts max 2000 RMS at 2 ohms... Well i will say its the most powerful amp i have EVER heard in my life... made my 18"s so loud it actually could be heard in a house over 100 yards away. no joke! But after about 3 weeks... BOOOOM.... it somhow inside of the amp on a power distribution block shorted.... smoked and sparks... amps fried.... 400 bux down the drain.. i gotta wait for the warranty crap..... cuz as everyone knows when u send in somthin for warranty it takes like 2 months to get it back... so anyways ITS CRAP STAY AWAY FROM EARTHQUAKE AUDIO..

if I were running 2 18s there is ONLY one amp I would put on it. It's about 10 years old and will run circles around most amps out there for power. CLEAN power and quality... It will be kinda tough to find one, but look for a PPI A1200.2 You can find them on ebay sometimes. I saw one the other day go for about 500, that's a GREAT deal. If I wasn't working on getting my car back, I probably would have jumped on it for a later project.

BTW, I'm not laughing at you directly, but... This post came as no shocker and...

is just funny to me. What did you expect from a "2000 watt (RMS?? - right....) amp" for $400...

A Quality amp from any brand new is going to cost a dollar a watt retail.

Good luck with the next amp, I hope that the get what you pay for lesson was at least taken in from this experience

I was going to suggest a PPI but he beat me to the punch, the art series amps are definitly worth the $, but are rare and hard to find.

If you're looking for one of those old school PPI amps, I've got an A600 that I'm looking to sell. I'll sell it to you for $350. I'm guessing it won't move 2 18s that well, but a couple of 12s would sound pretty awesome.

That's 600 x 1 @ 4 ohm it'll work fine at 2 ohm as well, which would put it at 1200 x 1, but constantly running it at full output at 2 ohm would probably not be good. (I ran it at 2 ohm, but I am not one to play at full volume for any length of time). If that doesn't interest you, look around for an old PPI A1200. For a couple of 18s, that's about the only amp I'd use.
