I doubt it's that hard... I've got manual locks, but someone put keyless on it, so they must have had to put something in.
Which just hit me... maybe not the same as factory, but there are electric locks in my car. Could I put them on a switch to control them from inside the car?1998 Firebird
V6 M5
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2239301/1

three things you need to convert manual locks to power locks to make it completely stock. It isn't that hard, the hardest part was trying to run the old wiring harness under the dash from one side of the car to the other.
1. Wires (I used a wiring harness out of a 1996 which was a mistake try to get close to your year, mine is 2002)
2. Actulators (They lock and unlock the door, just need to replace the sort of black box looking thing inside the door it actually locks on to the hook on the frame)
3. Switches (ripped out of a 99)
Optional item
4. Wiring Diagram (I got mine from a service manual off ebay, very helpful for converting a 96 wireing harness to 2002)
5. New Body Control Module with keyless option (BCM) - This is if you want to add keyless, you might be tempted to buy one off ebay, however the VATS resistence value is checked by the BCM so if your VAT value in your key doesn't match the one in the BCM car no start. You can get a nice brand new one from gmpartsdirect for around 140 shipped. The very first time a key is used the BCM programs itself to that VAT value.
As for the post directly above mine, yes you can put a switch on it, but first you would need to find out have the actulator is wired, you could even use factory switches if you connect the right wires.
