  • converting to aftermarket speakers..HELP!

Hey Guys, I just bought a Kenwood MP3 satellite ready CD deck and 4 triaxial Rockford Fosgate 6.5 inch speakers. I also got a hold of the installation kit for the deck and a wiring harness. Hoping to get it all installed before I get the car on the road this spring.
    Here are my questions:
    1) I've heard a lot of talk about the complicated wiring for the bose/monsoon sound system (for example the seperate third wire for the tweeter). However I do not have the bose system in my 94 Camaro RS and so I'm wondering if this complicated wiring exists for the stock 10 ohm Delco speakers that I have in there now (I can't find a tweeter)?
    2) Also I'm thinking that these rockford speakers are a lot bigger than the stock Delco ones in terms of depth. So I'm wondering if they're going to fit in the door without having to modify the door trim. If so, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

If you dont have a monsoon system, or a bose system.. and it's just the factory 4 speaker set up you should be fine... just wire up the speakers and headunit.

The speakers will fit just fine, you wont have any fitment issues, just make sure you roll down the window and make sure they arent hitting the window when it goes down.

thanks a lot for the quick response!
I'm gonna try and install them sometime this week...just waiting for a day without snow or incredibly cold weather. I will let you know how it goes and post questions as they come. Thanks again!

Oh and by the way strtRacer98...i was just looking at the pics of your ride on cardomain. I really like the clean look of it! I noticed the smoke lenses over your headlights. I'm just wondering if you converted to brighter lights, to overcome the dark lenses? And if so what did you do exactly? I find that my stock bulbs are way too weak...and I've got smoke lenses ready to go on, but I'm worried that they'll be even less bright.

Mike, GOD, my headlights are SOO dark... some nights you can barely see, but if i run with my fog lights on it makes it all better.

I love the look, but i havent replaced my headlights yet, i just got my tax returns back and i do plan on swapping the lights out.

I am going to use the existing wiring, just splice into the plug so it is easily reversible, and buy HELLA rectangular fog/ driving lights, they are almost the same size as the factory rectangular light, but a little bigger. and much brighter.
I plan on buying two sets (total 4 lights) and each light has two bulbs in it.

If ur gonna wait a while to do it, i will do a write up in my cardomain whenever i do it.

Thanks for the compliment, good luck with the speakers..
IM me on aim if u have any questions.

I've also looked at those Hella FF75 square lights. My problem is that they're incredibly expensive. I've found them cheap on ebay, but everyone who is selling them cheap won't ship to Canada.
Anyway, I installed the rockford speakers today. Those door panels are a real pain to get off and back on again. I just gotta install my deck and I'll be all set. I took the car out tonight because the streets were without snow or slush and I brought along some of my parents' old cassette tapes. The speakers sound good!
Thanks for the advice once again!
