GM9- AUX In a 98 Bird

I am want to purchase this part to connect my ipod and I wanted to see if anyone has used it on a 98 or older bird. I searched and could not find a clear cut answer.

Do you have the Monsoon system or a cassette player? Probably the best way to know for sure if you can hook up a GM9-AUX would be to pull your headunit out and see if it has the cd-changer jack on the back. It looks like this:

Good call I might as well check for myself. I have the monsoon so I am pretty sure I have the cd changer jack. Any tips on removing the stereo? Just take off the plastic outer and it should pull out hopefully.

Ok I checked and it has that jack but there are wires in it. Is this just the prewiring for the cd changer that I do not have?

Yes, that's the wiring for the CD-Changer. Just unplug it and plug the gm9-aux in its place. Have fun [img]smile.gif[/img]

Description: The GM10-AUX will convert the CD Changer port of select 1995-2004 GM vehicles into an auxiliary input. With this adapter installed you can connect any audio device [ iPod™, DVD, XM Radio (Pioneer GEX-P910XM, Sony DRN-XM01R, DRN-XM01C), Walkman, X-BOX, Playstation, etc] to the factory radio without using FM Modulation. This plug-n-play solution surpasses FM modulation which is the current method of introducing audio in these systems. The GM10-AUX plugs into the factory pre-run 10-PIN cable in trunk, hatch or center console.
If your GM vehicle is listed in our "Order Options" drop-down list but not prewired, an OEM Cable harness must be purchased a GM dealer.
Cable part numbers are:

? Saturn-------------------- Part # 21023550 and Part # 2102353 if not prewired

Special Notes:
1. The GM10-AUX is not compatible with vehicles equipped with in-dash 6 disc slave units.
2. 1995 -99 AM/FM/CD radios are not CD changer capable, and therefore not compatible with the GM10-AUX.
3. 2000 and earlier models are NOT capable of controlling two units (slave single CD or cassette Deck), therefore, these radios will need to have the slave unit disconnected.
4. Not compatible with GM OnStar™.
