• Quick ohm load question....

Ok....got two RF 6.5 speakers 4 ohms each with 1 inch tweeters (dunno the ohm load on those). Then i have 2 SPL 6.5 speakers 4 ohms each with 1 inch tweeers (again dunno the ohm load on the tweeters).

    To recap.... 4 6.5 4ohm speakers and 4 1 inch dome tweeters.

If i wire these up to a 4 channel amp, each on their own channel (ie. 1 6.5, 1 tweeter on each channel) What should i expect the ohm load on the amp to be? Still 4 ohms right? Thanks for the help guys!

No...you don't want to wire it up that way anyway....get some crossovers to go between the amp and speakers...you will be happy you did. Technically the combo you described in series would be 8 ohm and in parallel it would be 2 ohm.

You bought all the speakers and tweeter seperatly? I mean did the RF 6.5"s and tweets come together as a set? And the SPL 6.5"s and tweets come as a set? If not.... you bought tweeters seperately?? hehehehe

The 2 rf 6.5 were bought as a set...the front two tweeters were bought as a seperate set. The spl 6.5's in the rear came with the two tweets and two crossovers.

If you are wiring them up as a set, expect to see 2ohms at your amp parallel and 8ohms series (assuming of course that you tweets are 4ohm also). Like that other guy said though, you want to get some crossovers, without them, it will sound like doo doo.

so what you are saying is, you bought both of them as sets??

explain that a little better and im sure we can help you

Use the component set up front. (The SPL's) And the RF in the rear. And I'd chuck the other set of tweeters.

ok....the two rf 6.5 were bought together. I went ahead and bought the two tweeters seperate to go into my pillars. The spl speakers are a componet set....it comes with the 6.5's the tweets and crossovers. Ill prolly do as stated above and put the spl's up front and the rf's in the back. But i want the tweeters in the back of my car too. So i can get a full range of sound front and back. Then if these spl 6.5's sound descent i plan on getting two spl 12's to go in the rear.

              Thanks,
