A yes I have a 96 camaro t-top hatchback and I put 2 rockford Punch 10inch subs in a custom made hatch box with a rockford 900watt punch amp and when I turned it on the car was rattling badly at only volume 2 with my eq set high on my hu, then i change the eq to vocal and i could turn it up to like 15 but the car rattles pretty bad on the outside but when you are in the car it sounds good!!! Is there a way to fix this problem, to eleminate the rattling? Its mainly in the back of the car!!! I just dont want my car to rattle because it sounds like crap!!! I heard that sound damping might help but im not for sure. If so how much would I need for the back mainly??? Thanks!!!

1) Punctuation... Please use it. (ie, your first sentence)
2) Punctuation... Don't use it so much. (ie, "!!!!!")
3) Tighten every screw, nut, and bolt on the rear of the car. If something is loose, this could be the rattle.
4) Get some Dynamat. It will help keep the rattling down and will also add to the quality of your bass.1996 Pontiac Firebird
Black, 3.8L A4

So here you say that sound deadening is going to do very little, while in this thread, you say it will work great? The best way I have found is to turn up your system.... get out of your car.... and look, listen, and feel where the noise is coming from. Then wedge something in there to keep it from moving back and forth (rattling). Use the sound deadeners to reduce road noise.

1. license plate was vibrating against the bumper. 1/2" wide foam did the trick there.
2. If you have the hatch open and look where the hatch rests when closed, you'll see two black triangular plastic pieces right on the corners. They were vibrating against the body of the car. Wedged a thin strip of sound deadening under there. (Just had some extra lying around)
3. made sure all the plastic wing nuts were tight. Don't think I saw much improvement there.
4. My #1 anti-vibration improvement.... on the underside of the hatch. Large plastic piece which contours all the way around the bottom of the hatch. It was vibrating against the hatch itself. Wedged some sound deadening just under the very edges of it all the way around. BAM! Night and day difference there.
Obviously you do NOT have to use sound deadening like I have. Anything that will stand the test of time will work. There is a great chance that you may have vibrations coming from other places then I have mentioned here. Turn the bass up, get out of the car, and look listen and feel where the sound is coming from. It's not rocket science. ;)

I just wanted to remind you that the 220 that does 130/160 at idle is not a direct bolt
on. I offer a 180 and 200 that is a direct bolt on but the idle output is about 20/30 amps less...
Here are some prices including shipping and handling.
Bolt-ons.
180amp $248.00
200amp $271.00
Not a bolt-on....
220amp $271.00
240amp $301.00
When asked about using the non bolt-on alts in my 4th gen, he replied:
It shouldnt be too hard on your car....you have plenty of room from what i remember. I may be able to make a bracket that will work. I will see. I gotta run, I will get back to you..or call me at 615-287-7991.

when i had my dual 12" system in the car..until i took care of it there was a lot of rattle from the hatch area..a lot of it was because GM didnt use screws for all the of plastic paneling back there..and theres a lot of it..they used those little plastic push pins..i found 3M double sided tape to be a good fix for that if you do not want to put holes in your car 12 SECOND DUAL STAGE DRY NITROUS POWERED 98 A4 V6 CAMARO
www.MySickCamaro.50megs.com
Best ET: 12.82@103
Best MPH: 104.7
Best 60\': 1.75 - Stock TC

quote:
Originally posted by Shodown:
1DV6 runs 12\'s...enough said.
