Fuse question for hifonics 1500d

The amp itself has 2 60amp fuses. Does this mean that the fuse closer to the battery has to be 120amp? And that it has to be the ANL type fuseholder?? Somebody told me that, and someone else told me that an 80amp agu fuse would work, but I dunno if I trust that, I always thought it was supposed to be the same size as the fuse in the amp. Also I CANNOT find any 120amp fuses. I can only find 100, 150, 200,etc.

Before I answer, what size power wire are you running to the hatch? The BX1500D is your only amp?

4 guage and yes it is my only amp

Use an ANL style in either 125 or 150.

I wouldn't go any higher then 125 with 4g. Go with an ANL style. If you ever decide to get another amp, you'll need a higher rated fuse (of course) and you're only gonna find those in an ANL design.

The guy at my local car audio store told me to try an 80 amp fuse, and if that blows, go with 100, then if that blows, go with 125.

not neccesarily. if he can get away with a lower amp fuse then his amp is a little safer. I actually always do what his local guy told him to do (only i make a better guess, like i would start at 100). I do beleive that a 125 will be the right choice in the end but if he can go lower without it blowing all the time then he should. deffinately go with the ANL style to allow for further upgradability.

See thats why I'm trying to use an 80amp, because I have an agu fuseholder already installed. I ran WAY over my budget on this project, and I want to avoid spending more money.
