Ok, this is for my sexy neon.

I added:
Infiniti REF 6002SI Front
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Gty93sm...00&I=1086002SI

Infiniti REF 9603I Rear

http://caraudiosecurity.com/catalog/...oducts_id+1199

Don't mind the sites... I just couldn't find them both on the same one

I know I need a 4 channel amp for this.... 4 speakers.... 4 channels....

Can someone offer some guideance for me?

At a later date... a sub w/ seperate amp might be added.....

Thanks in advance.

if you want some good decent sq the elemental design nine.4 is a good choice. i have yet to be dissapointed by any of their equipment. their site is in my sig. its 50x4 but it should run the 6x9's just fine. their are better choices for the speakers too if you havent bought those already, if you have they are still fine, you can just get better speakers for the price.

James.

You have a lot of choices. If you really want some sound quality that still can be loud. Infinity is a good choice.

You will need to match your amp with your speakers. Its important to have and amp that can produce close or the same RMS power at the right Ohm load.

It is also important to match speakers.

The way you have it setup, you have the more powerful speakers in the rear. And the less powerfull in the front. Not good.

I would recomend going with better front speakers and same or less rear speakers.

Go with the Infinity 6000cs 2 way component. The woofer will fit in the stock location, and the tweeter comes with a surface mount kit. So you can either drill a large hole somewhere and recess it, or a small hole and surface mount it. Not to mention you they handle more power. 100 RMS at 4 Ohms. Then I would either keep the 3 way 6x9 or get the lesser 2 way.

That way you will have a nice front soudstage. I would get the Alpine f240 amp. It is either 50wX4 or 100wX2 RMS (bridged). I would personally bridge it for lots of power to the front components, and run the 6x9 off the HU. Somepeople would say the rears are unneccesary when you have a quality front component set, so thats why you don't really have to have them all that powerfull.

Ininity 6000cs around $150
Alpine F240 amp around $150
Infinity 6X9 around $100
So for around 400 you will have a very nice system

To prove my opinion. The same setup, minus the 6X9s. It sound awesome.

Oops...after jus reading the post again, I think you might have already got the front ones. In that case I would still go with the Alpine f240 and run it as a 50wx4. It should power everthing just fine, and its easy on the wallet.

Pewterbird - no offense, but I think you're a little incorrect. You were correct in saying to try and match the RMS handling of a speaker and an amp. You misspoke saying his rear's are "more powerful." While they can handle more power, they will sound just as loud as his fronts at the same wattage. Reason being is they have the same sensitivity rating of 92db's. I'd play it safe and get something 50x4, since your fronts are only rated at 50RMS handling. This Clarion amp (http://www.cardomain.com/item/CLAAPA450) is 50x4, cheap, and great for SQ for the money and what you need. You may be able to find that amp somewhere else cheaper also.

Infinity 6000cs around $150? if you spend that much you would be much better off with the cdt cl's from www.thezeb.com. they are infinitely better than infinity and are just as expensive. the ED amps are the best deal around when it comes to a good sq amp. you might try looking at their system deals if you havent bought your speakers yet (they give great discounts when you buy more than one product together in one purchase). nice to see you larry, its been a while.

Ditch the rears and put nothing back there, then run a small 2 channel to the front.

Ever been to a concert where the band played behind you? Staging + imaging = happiness

Sidenote: I'm one of the few people I know who actually like this, but its more cost efficient and sounds better in my opinion, because all rear speakers do is add SPL and mess up staging and imaging (unless of course you can manage to incorporate ambience recovery) ;)

Yep you are correct. I mean have the potential for more power. :D

Brand Preference

Brand Doesn't matter, just go to your local car audio shop and find the ones that sound best to you. I don't mean buy them there, cause they will most likely rip you a new one, but you can at least pretend and demo them out .

I like Infinity...He likes CDT... Its all relative. It depends what you like.

i likem the sound stagem. most people i know arent impressed though (i dont think they get it). and yes you are right it is all preference but i would say to compare the cdt cd's to the kappa series from infinity not the reference which im pretty sure the 6000cs's are. deffinately listen to each part of your system before you buy a thing, its all up to you.
