I wanted to get a good head unit. There are so many that I don't know where to start. I have a 10' Pioneer IMPP DVC sub mounted in a box that I built. I have a Kenwood amp(don't remember the exact model but it puts out 600 watts peak power). I ordered my car without the Monsoon option b/c I've heard it's a PITA to replace the Monsoon head unit. I want a head unit that can read mp3(not a necessity but would be nice)

if you are looking for an mp3 HU, look into either Aiwa or a Kenwood. kenwood being the better of the 2, but a good one will be more expensive but highly worth it.

I'm gonna have to recommend Eclipse HU's, just because of the great SQ these units have. Unfortunatly they won't read MP3's, like was said earlier, Kenwood is the way to go if that is important to you. What I did to solve the MP3 problem, was a just buy a 50 pack of blank CD's and burn them all to CD's.

edit: If you make it to the next meet, you can check mine out. Make a decision based on listening to it, ya know.

if you get an eclipse, make sure if you're using an amp, that the amp can handle the high output volts of the HU. eclipses usually have high outputs usually somewhere around 4 to 8.
