anyone know what this wire under the console does?

when i took the console off it wasnt connected to anything. also trying to fix the indicator bulb in my auto trans. and im not sure if this wire is for the bulb.(never found a bulb in there)

it might be the wire adapter for the gear indicator light in the console. Did your light go out or did you never have one?

i have an m5 and i dont have any any wire liek that so its got to be something with the autos.

i never knew there was a light in there until someone told me about it, so i opened it up and thats all i found. it may have been screwed with by the previous owner because they had a hole in the back cup holder going into the console, most likely their copper equipment..lol

My auto has a button between the stick and the cup holder. If you push it, it lights up. It's a 2nd gear start for the trans.... for you cats that live in the snow and ice. :cool:
