My friend just put a Alipne HU in his BMW and was gonna use a Pioneer CD changer with it, and the guys he took it to said the Alipne and Pioneer equipment weren't compatable with each other. Is this limited to just the HU's and changers, or is it across the board? I am wondering because I plan on using a Alpine HU, Pioneer speakers, Kenwood amp, and a couple subs(don't know the band yet). Will the Alipne HU and Pioneer speakers go together?

I am going to add to this question
I am going with 2 10" Alpine Type R subs, and am short on funds so I was thinking of a 1000W Kenwood, or maybe even a 1000 Rockford Punch (I found em on sale)..will this work ok?...any other amp ideas low priced and work well with Type R's?

Hey thanks, do I need one per sub, or is one amp good for the 2....I aqm very short on cash, so I need something really cheap, but not too cheap, I mean, I want it too last and to sound real good, I dont want to spend anymore then 500 Canadian, and that is really too much :(

Click me for more info. Check out the JBL BP600.1. It will give you a little over 600WRMS@2 ohms and is stable to 1 ohm. Despite what the description says. But if you could afford it, bump up to the BP1200.1. That will double your available power. You may not need it all now, but it's always good to have some headroom. :D

if you get the bp1200.1 be very carefull that amp is a beast. my neighbor blew out 4 kappa perfect 12's with it and running it at 2ohms, so look out. the bp600.1 would be perfect.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

oh i almost forgot, to run two subs off one amp you will have to learn how to wire them in series or in parrallel. go to an audio store and ask them to show you how to wire them in series and in parrallel, also ask th differences in ohms and power and the such. i really don't feel like explaining it all, and you may already know what im talking about anyways.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard
