I went to Best Buy to purchase speakers to replace my crappy factory ones. They keep busting. I have to keep the bass way down or they will bust. They told me I can't mix a factory system with store bought speakers or it will fry the deck. Is this true? If so, WHAT CAN I DO???

Whoever told you that should be fired. The factory 6-3/4" speakers in the doors are 2-Ohms and the tweeters in the doors are 4-ohms. Any "store bought" component speakers are all going to be 4-ohms but that's okay, the Monsoon system will still work with them. Really, the only issue with installing new front speakers is that the Monsoon Amp will now only see a 4-ohm load (compared to the factory speaker 2-ohm). Technically the Monsoon Amp will only be pushing roughly half the power to the new speakers. But again it works and is safe to the system.
Are there any brands of speakers you might recommend? I've never bought speakers or anything, so I'm clueless. I'm not picky, I just want something that sounds decent and lasts longer than a month or so.
