  • ? on amp i need for my sub!

Ok i got a rockford fosgate 10 inch punch speaker. The model number is RFP4410. It says this on the webpage!

10" Punch HE (4 ohm) Subwoofer with Polypropylene cone, BART foam surround, LXursion basket, consealer gasket, Rubber magnet boot, 150 watts RMS/400 watts peak.
    Power handling(RMS) - 200 Watts

    Power handling(Peak) - 400 Watts

So what amp would you say to get. I dont want to spend to much (iam poor). Also i only listen to hardrock and metal.
Also which is the best way to get power back to the hacth area and is there a good wireing kit i should buy? Please help iam new to this! Please post links!

Well since its a SVC 4 ohm, i would reccomend the JBL 600.1 it will do 300 watts RMS at 4 ohms which is a little on the high side for the sub as it only handles 200 RMS. So keep the gain low.

Also this amp is a good choise BC if you decide to add another sub it can easily be done, and still have enough watts to power both subs. The price on it is $189.00 from www.ikesound.com

Run 8 gauge power and ground, 12-14 gauge speaker wire should be fine.

So what you are saying is i only really need 200 watts? In a amp? Also is there something that will power it for around say $100 that is good? I wont be adding another sub. It will be only one sub!
Will a PROFILE CA400 2 CHANNEL amp work? Are they any good? Thanks!

Yes all you need is 200 or 300 watt amp.

Profile is *ok* most people use them as audio jewerly, they look nice, better than they perform.

Let me search for an amp under 100 bux for you, will you be doing the installation?

I wouldn't get less than 4 gauge wire. That way, you have a ton of room to expand before having to re-run your wires, if ever. You can run them down the passenger side, underneath the pcm. Its pretty easy once you see the grommet right in the passenger footwell. And as for the bracket, I belive there is one you can get, but I didnt have problems bolting the ring to the terminal..
