  • ttops or system?

ok, so im planning ahead a bit here, none the less, its still a problem

i am big on car audio first off, and i love to be loud!

that said, what do i do with my ttops? is there anywhere else they can be stored?
i am going to be building a custom fiberglass box for my trunk, and need the box to be big as possible

and, also... whats with the big hump behind the rear seats in the hatch (im still a camaro n00b) does it serve a purpose, can it be taken out, made smaller?

    thanks!

the big hump is for your gass tank, dont drill into it. As for storage i would look at the t-top box from subthump for ideas on how to make the box. unless you are going insanely loud you can go with 2 12's and still offend plenty of other drivers and this will allow for the T-top box to be used (sometimes you have to sacrifice spl for usefullness). You might be able to fit 3 12's in this type of box if you are inventive. Elemental designs subs dont require much air space so that would be my suggestion for subs (and really everything other than your HU) www.edesignaudio.com . Another company to look into that isnt nearly as loud but allows for some interesting box designs is illusion audio because they have very slim mounting depth requirements www.illusionaudio.com . Both of these brands have great sound quality if that is a factor for you decision. Your only other option is to take our your rear seats and build the box there.

that hump is your driveshaft, you need it.

Ever see a slammed pickup truck, that had its bed cut out for the driveshaft and rear diff. same principle but your car was done at the factory.

If you didn't have it you would need to do serious fabrication and jack the car up like 6-12 in.

As for t-tops check out t-top bags for third gens... I have had t-tops on my car for abotu a month, and I just lay them on my back seat, with it down.(jsut been to lazy to fully install my t-top holders.)

well that's part of what the hump is but the reason it is so high is the gass tank is located there as well. hey shenanigans why do you still say you are in vermont when i'm pretty sure you are in orlando now?

My big @$$ MTX 564 amp is being installed as we speak. They are putting it on the back wall ... the side where the break lights are. If and when I decide to get a sub (with my new speakers and amp, I probably won't need one), I am going to put it in the little cubby holes to either side of the trunk.

I've heard of a guy who put a big @$$ sub where the t-tops normally go, and made some cool slider thingy so he can still get the tops in. They slid over the sub box and deck. Sounded awesome ...

              Good luck, man!
