Hard, yes impossible no. I hit 140.5 with a single 12, If I redigned my box and lengthen and my port to 54 Cubic Inches, I should hit around 145. I have seen a single 12 hit a 147.
After reading the rest of his posts, I doubt he hit a 147. Definately not in a bandpass box.
As for your question I would go with the L7's. 2 L7's in the right box should get you in the high 40's your just gonna need some power to get it there. How many watts is the amp?

well im not into stereo stuff but i had my stuff dB'd and it was 143 with 2 JL 12w3 V2's and a JL 500/1 amp. i dont know how to tune the amp so its at whatever it is. 143 good?
