fading lights

When I use power in any part of my car (brake lights, power windows, etc.) all the other lights dim slightly. The worst is the headlights at night when I apply my brakes. Is this a firebird thing? or is this a warning sign of a bigger problem? Thanks.

u're alternator might be going out bro. i noticed my lights dimming, but mine were dimming even when i didnt brake. a couple days after i noticed the dim lights my alternator crapped out. keep an eye on u're voltameter, and make sure it doesnt drop down into the red zone. you dont want u're car dieing out on u while u are driving.

my car has always been like this..and it has a new alternator and battery in it..the voltage meter shows its fine..but it will dim..or sort of flicker..just for a split second when i hit the brakes..or turn on the defroster..when i had my amp in it used to do it when i turned on the stereo too..doesnt really bother me though [img]smile.gif[/img] ..its hardly noticeable..im not sure exactly how bad yours is

yea, im having same probs...

alt just died yesterday, and brand new alt, and my lights are dimming with heat and steroe on (monsoon system)
brand new battery too

i think this is a chronic problem with our cars, im not sure why. i have an 00 camaro, my friend has a 02 camaro, and the lights (headlights) dim every now and then but i think its just a flaw in the car, nothing to be worried about.

The funny thing, I still haven't found a cure. Been rollin around with this problem ever since. And yes, it's been to a dealer and they say it's normal.....whatever the hell that's suppose to mean. :(
