  • Question about a chip

I bought and installed a Stage 2 Jet Chip. Would i be able to get the hypertech programer just to get rid of the top speed limiter and raise the rev limiter? Or would using the hypertech mess something up because of ther jet chip?

I would get the programmer and say to hell with the chip. I had heard some say that Jet made a few "faulty" units, and I even had one in my car. Then I was driving down the interstate one day and my battery just went out. Very strange incident. After a 40-mile tow and a new battery, the guys at the dealership couldn't get the SES light to go off. As soon as they took the chip out, the light went off. So I'm assuming it was the chip that messed things up.

I'm putting all my cash into brakes/ suspension right now in order to get ready for the track, but I'll definitely be getting the HPP 3 soon. I'll probably make a few runs before the programming and then after to see what kind of results I get from it.

I think those chips are usually programed for oprimum output. It's almost like saying you wanted to get the top-of-the-line Dell laptop and then you wanted to go out and buy a new hard drive and motherboard for it. I'd follow memphis' advice. Of course, I don't have either so what the hell do I know? =)

Oh it definitely adds power, but it's not worth
the hassle of being stranded in the middle of nowhere if it goes bad on you. Like I said, I got rid of the chip and will soon be getting the HPP3.

            I got a HPP3 a few days ago and I love it.
I can REALLY feel the power increase.

I guess it varies from car to car and I got lucky because it pulls hard as hell now
