my camaro has the stock monsoon system (which seems to suck a$$, not sure if the previous owner stole all the stock monsoon speakers, or what? but its horrible

how are image dynamics speakers? i have heard good things about their subs, but how are there other speakers?

i was thinking in the front doors, IDCXS6 4 ohm comp system
for rear seats, a pair of ID CX64 Mid-Range speakers
for speakers in hatch, IDCTX4 2-way speakers (not sure if there is room for 2 per side, or just 1 per side, but i think 2) so, 2 sets of those

i will be running the comps off an alpine v12, and the other speakers off the monsoon amp, for now


i will later be adding a DD 15" sub in a fiberglass enclosure

ok, i will be running the 4" speakers off 4 channels on the monsoon amp, and the 2 midbass speakers off the remaining 2 channels

only a pair of 4" speakers in the hatch (i guess when someone said there were 2 speakers per side, they meant a woofer and tweeter)

Forget about the 4'' speakers in the hatch those are too far back there to make a diffrence and a waste of $$$.

If you want to really make a difference in your sound quality you will need to put in a new amp with the speakers. also, you dont need to use any speakers other than your fronts. This will allow you to set it up for good soundstaging. I would suggest the second option here http://www.edesignaudio.com/6000s_special.htm if you just want better components (it will also allow you to add sail panel speakers later if you dont like the way it sounds with just the fronts). I would suggest the first or second option in the 13Kv.2 Complete System Combos here http://www.edesignaudio.com/13kv2_special.htm if you would like to add a sub to your system as well.

Ok, good just so long as you add an amp you will notice a huge difference. In that case i would recomend going over to www.thezeb.com and checking out the cdt cl 6.5 components for the front and their coaxials for the rear (these are extremely high quality speakers). It will be the best $200 you ever spend on your audio system.

but, since im not gonna be running the 2 ways in the hatch, should i just go with 2 sets of components? and mount the tweets in the door?

i will also be building a custom fiberglass box to fit perfectly into the trunk. this will prob start in the springtime.

i will be putting a DD 9500 series sub in as big of a box i can get!.
i will also be building an amp rack with lid for amps, wiring, and caps!

i will be porting the DD and tuning to around 30hz, so itll be loud as hell if i can get 2kilowatts going to it!
definately gonna need an eq for the camaro... any easy way to mount it?

is there a bracket to put a 1 din cdplayer, and give you a half of din slot so i could put an eq in the dash?

yeah, the mounting kit you are talking about is pretty standard you should be able to find it at any audio shop. i wouldnt even bother using the hatch speakers. almost everyone on the site just doesnt put anything in the hatch when they upgrade the system because its just not useful. Do your fronts in components and you can get away with coax for your sail panle speakers for rear fill. The fiberglass box will be nice if you know what you are doing, if not you might have to play around with it for a while to get it right (no biggie). good luck, i hope it turns out how you want it.

I second what t-punk says about the CDT speakers. That set-up is probably one of the best budget set-ups you can have if you do want rear fill. You don't even need to run the rears off of an amp, you can just use the new HU. You will definitely want to put an amp to those front components though.
