I have 1 12" audiobahn aw1251t dvc sub wired at 2 ohms and i have it powered with an alpine amp with enough rms watts, but it still sounds like CRAP, i don't know why, its a brand new sub, its in a qlogic box and my friend says its because the box is crap and seems to leak air and doesnt have enough airspace, please tell me he is right. will a box make the sub not hit that good?? he said he had the same problem with his polk momo sub and had a box custom made for him.

If the box leaks, you definitely need a new box. If you have a $1000 sub, and you put it in a crappy box, and you have a $100 sub in a perfect box, guess which is gonna sound better?
Get a new box. Even better, get a new box from www.subthump.com

I have found that fiberglassing the interior of the box helps. It will help seal the box better....you may want to put a coat of polyurethane on the outside if you haven't already carpeted the box.98 Bright Red Camaro
Too many mods to list....check my website
