Bob, the cool thing is, the Sirius receiver has a small FM broadcaster in it that can be set to either 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, or 88.7. Basically the receiver sends the music to one of those 4 channels. All you do is turn on your Monsoon headunit, tune to one of those 4, and turn on your Sirius receiver and the sound comes through all the speakers just like a regular radio station. Easy as pie.

The only problem I had with installing it was the antenna. It is magnetic and has to stick to metal. It wouldn't go on the roof or the trunk (apparently these are fiberglass), so I had to put it on the rear side panel above the gas cap.

I then screwed the holder for the receiver to the dash next to the passenger airbag and the headunit. Works beautifully.

I can post pics of everything if you peeps want.

The XM Roady 2 also has the built in FM modulator. I have XM and love it. Many of the stations are commercial free. The sound quality is very good. The only problem with any of them is where to mount the antenna. We have no metal on the top of our cars...

Hey guys, quick question: I have a Sirius Ready head unit, ad am getting the service this week. Do I just need the tuner and antennea? Also, since the deck is SR, I won't have to mount anything else up front right?

Thanks for the help, I've been out of the car stereo industry for about 5 years and have got rusty

I registered just to answer your question.

I bought a Kenwood Sirius Ready Head Unit. I got the tuner and antenna with it. Nothing else mounts up front. You just run the signal wire along with a power and ground wire and you're all set. I'm still trying to figure out how to run the antenna wire though into the car, because I haven't actually picked it up yet, not until next week.

Awesome, you're the man!!! I knew wiring it would be easy, just wasn't sure on the hardware. How much did you pay for the tuner and antenea, if you don't mind me asking? Gotta be sure I'm getting a decent deal.

Thanks again, be sure to post up or e-mail me anytime if there's something I can help you with!

I got a deal off of Crutchfield when it was all started. I bought the Kenwood head unit for like $240, and got the tuner and the antenna for free along with the installation kit for my S-10 at the time. If my memory serves me right though, the retail on the kenwood tuner is $79.99 and on the tuner is $49.99. That's the same price we sell them for at Circuit City as well. Installation is a breeze though if you've even messed with your head unit.

Now I just gotta wait until I can pick my car up, the waiting is driving me nuts.

So thats it? As long as you have a Sirius ready head unit, all you need is the Tuner and the antenna? cool!

Thats a hella deal you got man. I needed to know that info too, thanks.

Well, you do have to activate the service. It's as simple as calling a phone number and punching in yoru tuners serial number and account info. It's 12.95 a month without a contract, 9.95 with a contract, or there is a lifetime account (equipment's lifetime, not yours) but I am not certain on it's cost.
