Usually the 6" is feasable, whether it looks better, well thats questionable. In any event, you might want to dry using a dremel, might work out better for a small space like what you are working with..

Ya, i know the tweeter is suppose to be close but i don't see any good place for it. The only thing i can think of it putting it in the mirror piece or surface mounting it on the dash. Which one is better between those two?
You could get some tweeter pods from sshevy on ls1.com. They mount on the inside mirror bracket. But to cut the holes, I would suggest a hole saw. Make sure you know the exact size hole you need to drill and go buy the correct one.
I'll second Megabass on that one. Try to get ahold of the tweeter pods from SShevy on ls1.com instead of doing a hack job on the stock trim pieces. They're most likely not really thick enough to have a speaker behind them anyway.
If you insist, you'll need to cut the hole using a hole saw for your drill. A hack saw or a jig saw is going to make a big mess and you'll end up having to replace the stock trim piece anyway.

also, just so you know, you may only want to drill a hole and put the wires through, if you sell the car, and want to take the tweeters out if you made them flush, there will be a very large hole, and door panels are not cheap, they can range anywhere from $250-$500 each
