no that will sound exactly the same. you will need a bigger amp to do this. i agree with the jbl 600.1. its not an audiophile cleaness but it is pretty good and it deffinatel puts out the power. i have never had good luck with pioneer (they are highly overated, imho). sorry for the bad news. glad to hear that you at least know that was the problem now (overheating). Just think of it as "your tastes have grown", so allow your system to grow with you.
